The “DNF TCG” cat: coming out of the bag!

I can finally talk about the game we’re making. It’s about time!

In case you don’t already know, and to whet the ole’ appetite if you do, we here at New Edge are working on “Dungeons and Fighters” (a.k.a. “Dungeon Fighters Online”) trading card game. This is the company’s first foray into original product development, and I look forward to sharing the struggles and progress we’ve made over the last few months, and in the run up to our winter release. So, stay tuned to read about the company’s transformation from distributor to publisher, development and launch of DNF TCG and plans for the future. And as we get started, I simply have to say how proud we are to have the support of Justin Gary, John Fiorillo, Jeff Liu and the rest of the team at Gamer Entertainment!

What to expect in coming days and weeks…

  • Working with licensors: the importance of a style guide (or, what happens when you don’t have one?!)
  • How to bootstrap a development team (or, how much is enough and when do you push the fledglings out of the nest?)
  • Marketing as a distributor vs as a publisher (or, how to expand your promotional horions)
  • Local coverage (translated) of New Edge and DNF TCG, plus a personal take on the whole adventure
  • The ever-popular, “much, much more.”
